What we do

CAHP will leverage and enhance its reputation and extend visibility within the Colorado health care community through effective education. CAHP recognizes the need to better educate policymakers, health stakeholders and our members about the industry. We will be working to provide trusted and transparent information about how health insurance works in Colorado as well as communicating our policy principles on a number of legislative and regulatory issues of importance to our plan members.

CAHP will focus its efforts on fostering mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders through authentic community engagement. We want to work more effectively with health care stakeholders to achieve high quality health care at affordable prices in Colorado.

CAHP will proactively plan focused issue attention and associated actions for future legislative sessions. We want to demonstrate our ability to drive high quality health care at affordable prices for Coloradans particularly because we are at the center of the health care system and know which policies could have unintended consequences for consumer affordability.

CAHP will increase communication of the “total” value of our industry and trade association. We want to be better communicators to policymakers, health care stakeholders, and the public about how health plans provide value to the health care system and to patients every day.

CAHP will develop and follow a forward looking, long-range investment plan to foster organizational growth. We will seek out new members and partners who also believe in driving high quality health care at affordable prices and whose missions and vision align with ours.
